A stringer from 2002 to 2004 for Newsweek magazine, based in the London bureau, John Ghazvinian has reported stories from Spain, Ireland and the UK for this influential global current affairs magazine. He has interviewed such public figures as architect Richard Rogers, BBC World Service Director Mark Byford and Taliban captive Yvonne Ridley. He has written on everything from the airline industry to London police reform and Spanish immigration. John began his career on the British newspaper The Sunday Times, where he was a Murdoch scholar in 1997. He then went on to write on British politics for the venerable American political weekly The Nation, before undertaking a stint as the Newsfeed Editor for mediabistro.com and eventually ending up at Newsweek. John is the author of 'Untapped: The Scramble for Africa's Oil', to be published in the US by Harcourt in April 2007.
